Pirlo doesn't have any legs? Is he good at heading?

If they have 2v3 in the middle, no way will they be able to not give him time on the ball
We can't put our best attacking player out with the mindset of primarily defending. Even McCleish would call that negative. The only other option would be to play Rooney upfront on his own with Milner in the middle and Walcott starting, but Rooney would be isolated and frustrated. Gerrard and Parker can shut down Pirlo. Italy's other two midfielders, de Rossi and Marchisio are mostly defensive players.

didnt actually say that, if he is playing in the hole, he will stop a lot of Pirlo getting the ball. No way can Gerrard and Parker cope with 3 central midfielders and will need help, Milner will probably push inside

4-5-1 without trying to fit Rooney in..
Is that a serious comment? Please tell me you are joking.
Yes I'm SERIOUS. wake up and smell the coffee.
Rooney hasn't done sweet FA in any tournament in ages. Wilshire is the only class player we have that might KEEP possession and play a pass like Pirlo can. His injury for over a season has been devestating for us and his development.
4-4-2 for a team that can't keep the ball is ridiculous but not we need to fit our big players in.
Even a blind man could see you need three in the middle to nullify Pirlo. The Italians aren't even that good anymore but they embarrassed us with there possession.
How can a little Country like Portugal play 4 out last 6 semi finals and worse Turkey 2 semis in recent tournaments and we can't get to a semi. Something seriously wrong.
GUTTED
Re: England line ups
Ok Ads, Fingers crossed for the next tournement that Rooney is injured and Wiltshire is fit as that is all that's wrong with England.

Milner....what a joke he's been all tournement, as well as rooney even though he did not start right away..
Too much is put on rooneys shoulders , All this bollocks he cant wait to get on the feild etc etc, Well last night the italians made him look like a bloody local pub player. As for the long steak Carrol i blame dalgleish for putting such a stupid price tag on his nogging, he clearly aint the brill player that every one thinks he is, in actually fact 35 mill yr aving a laff try 35 quid..
Young waste of time n effort , his best abbilitie was wasted, he cud not get into the box n dive ...
I just hope that when the world cup does come around there are some serious changes into this so called england squad....

Just when it comes to the crunch Rooney is nowhere to be seen. It's annoying.
Wilshire I really rate. If there's a player that can be great then it's him.
Plus wouldn't bother with 4-4-2. We can't play with two in the middle.
I wouldn't even bother with the World Cup. As in we should try and build for the France 2016.
But as you say the issues are a lot deeper. Which is why I highlighted Portugal and Turkey as examples.
What would the Germans have done to us last night
Re: England line ups
Rooney needs to stop doing adverts that make out he is going to win every competition on his own, he might as well not have been on the pitch last night.
