DARREN BENT.....

Last 3 prem seasons, he has scored 81 goals only one behind the leaders Drogba and Rooney on 82. Injury free and with the supply we have in our team this is a massive coup for Aston Villa FC.

I couldnt give a shite about the fee, we havent the luxury of signing an 18m foreign prospect and giving him 6 months to settle in, we need goals and we need them from saturday onwards. Of all the players that we could get to do this Bent is the most realistic and Im more than pleased with this.

32 goals in 58 Premier League for Sunderland, lets hope that he can get something like that for us. If he can get 10 goals between now and the end of the season, I can see him helping us to a top half finish.

Very positive that it seems Downing and Young wont be going either. With these two and Albrighton supplying the ammunition, reckon it is quite feasible that Bent will get a good few goals before the end of the season. Team and squad looks a lot stronger already, wonder if anyone else will be coming in.

There is a guy on Villa Talk, you have probably seen him on there, it's where Ad's gets all his stuff from. He has been spot on this window and in the past to be fair and he reckoned at the start of the week we were getting two more in, but one of them was Charlie Adam and he said yesterday that he thinks he is off to Everton now. So seems it will be definitely one more, possibly two.

ROT, would you say a left back is definetly needed. I like Clark, but does he need to get more experience playing in that position and now isnt the best time. Know it was also mooted about Shay Given, with Friedel going the other way. Must say fairly happy with the squad now, looking forward to seeing this Makoun play, if only to get rid of the nightmares I am having that he may be the new DJx2. As for Ades, he is a bigger gossip than any woman,

I don't think we will get a keeper yet, and certainly not Shay Given, think his wages will be to high, also he has been a bit injury prone as well. I think we will go in for that Rangers keeper in the summer. Makoun might not have his work permit for the Man City game, hopefully he will.

Well we know that Houllier is here to stay now and the signing of a new striker has warmed me to him again. Watching him in the press conference last night, he really reminds me of Inspector Clouseau. I think I will just not look at what he says to the press, it's his team now so hopefully he can turn our season round.

Houllier has to be far more careful with what he says. My anger towards him was after the whole Liverpool debacle, he now has to get the team playing and get the fans back onside.
