Yes, I mean look, if no one else wants to step up and claim the title we'll be more than pleased to help out - we're very gentlemanly in that sense, always willing to lend a hand, don't you know, what?

Re: New season
A draw then, that's 4 points lost in the last two games - again, not exactly championship-winning form, eh? Still, next up its Chelsea at The Grove and if ever there's a must-win it's that one, for any number of reasons but chiefly cos we owe 'em one (or two). Looking forward to the return of Mesut & Alexis - come on Arsenal!

Re: New season
I'm seeing double............ We're beating Burnley in the FA Cup next week Frenchie - are your lot not in it so you're playing a league game, perhaps winning a league game (?) thus going above us? Is that it or am I just confused? I'll repeat that, AM I JUST CONFUSED?
Enough of the effects of seeing double - that loss to Chelsea just about does it for us methinks. Three games ago I thought we'd pick up seven points from Liverpool and Stoke away, Chelsea at home. We picked up just the two. That, one has to acknowledge is not championship-winning form so, there you go - top three I hope. We've finally got some players coming back plus the new fella but that's probably too little too late. ManC have had their wobble and have come through it whilst we're seemingly stuck in the middle of ours. We'll see but we've certainly not taken up on the advantage we had three weeks ago - oh well, that's football - innit?!

Re: New season
Next we welcome Southampton to The Grove. Let's think revenge, eh? It'll be interesting who starts, given that we're getting our injured players back now (only Jack Wilshere & Santi Cazorla still out) - we'll have too much for 'em and I'm hoping we do 'em by at least 4 to gain proper revenge, come on Arsenal!

Re: New season
That's it right there - Tottingham are above us in the table, that's how bad it's got. OK, it won't last but right now our miserable 3 points from a possible 12 is pathetic. If we don't shape up this is how it will go - the pits. However, I continue to have faith - we will work it out. Come on Arsenal!

It's the same thing every year, jpr. You should be well used to it by now. Everybody knows that the Arse are bottlers.

Indeed - imagine, we've got to win tomorrow to follow Tottingham up the table - what a crazy season, eh? We will, don't worry we certainly will - and it's all there to play for! Come on Arsenal!

Re: New season
Result OK, we needed the win and got it although we didn't play that well. Two nicely taken goals - great to see The Ox finally get an away goal - I just felt this was the game to improve our goal difference, a 4 or 5-0 would've been ideal but hey, we're The Arsenal and we do stuff the hard way, right?!
Next up, Leicester City so this'll be the game which'll produce some clearer thinking as to which team can/will, which team can't/won't and no, a draw ain't the answer. Methinks we can do it, come on Arsenal!

Re: New season
We did it - again - and were well worth the three points. TBH I was a bit disappointed at the Leicester performance. Seemed to me a good few of their players were busy cheating, backed up by that prannock of a ref Atkinson and I was left hoping that this team - not the "plucky" Leicester we keep hearing about from the media - would not finish champions of English football. We've done our bit, 5-2 at theirs and 2-1 at ours so it's up ti the Crystal Palaces, WBA's, Norwiches and the like to bring 'em down.
Our performance was good across the park, although Alexis is nowhere near his best, Chambers did well in the second half with Kos having to stop with a dead-leg, Theo done good as did, of course Danny Welbeck with his winning-goal cameo. Gotta keep the spirit for the next few games - FA Cup, CL - need to win from here on in, come on Arsenal!

Re: New season
I prefer to think of it as "joint second" although I can understand your own preference, after all it's very rare for The Arsenal to be behind Tottingham innit. Make the most, it won't last

Re: New season
Of course one never knows - so dream on Frenchie I say, enjoy your second (joint second) position for as long as possible - it doesn't happen often
